Virginia Falls Day Tour

Departing Fort Simpson at 9am or 12pm, expect to be gone for about 5 hours. First stop is Virginia Falls after following the first, second and third canyons up the South Nahanni River. At Virginia Falls we spend about 2 hours on the ground with a guided hike to either the top or bottom of the waterfall. After jumping back in the floatplane, we fly over the spectacular Ram Plateau and Ram Canyon. This leads us to Little Doctor Lake, nestled in the Nahanni Range where we spend about 40 minutes on one of its many sandy beaches. From here it just a short hop back to Fort Simpson landing on the Mackenzie River.

At Virginia Falls we spend about 3-4 hours on the ground with a guided hike to both the top and bottom of the waterfall. After jumping back in the floatplane, we fly over the spectacular Ram Plateau and Ram Canyon. This leads us to Little Doctor Lake, nestled in the Nahanni Range where we spend 1-2 hours on one of its many sandy beaches. Bring your towel and enjoy a swim in this beautiful fresh water lake. From here it just a short hop back to Fort Simpson touching down on the Mackenzie River.

Glacier Lake Day Tour

Departing Fort Simpson at approximately 9am, expect to be gone for about 8 hours. First stop is Little Doctor Lake, nestled in the Nahanni Range where we spend about 40 minutes on one of its many sandy beaches. After jumping back in the floatplane, we soar over the spectacular Ram Plateau and Ram Canyon leading us deep into the Nahanni where we find the awe inspiring Glacier Lake that overlooks the Cirque of the Unclimbables. We spend about 40 minutes here, filling our water bottles in the mountain fed stream and taking in the view. Then we follow the South Nahanni River downstream past the Rabbit Kettle Tufa Mounds landing at the spectacular Virginia Falls. We spend about 2 hours on the ground with a guided hike to either the top or bottom of the waterfall. From here we follow the canyons down-river just as the paddlers do taking us back out of the Nahanni country touching back down on the Mackenzie River in Fort Simpson.
